Matteo Paoletti Franzato was born in Venice in 1989. He attended the Liceo Artistico and in 2011 he graduated “cum laude” at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Venice with Scenography and Set Design specialization.
The following year he worked for “Antonia Sautter creations & events” as creative decorator and sketch artist. In 2013 he collaborated as props man for Polittico srl at “Seconda Primavera” film by Francesco Calogero.
In 2014 he attended a Master of “Set Designer for the Opera” in Verona, participating in various productions at the Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza, at the “Puccini Festival” in Torre del Lago and at the Štàtna Opera in Banska Bystrica. He returned to the Teatro Olimpico in 2015 as assistant Set and Costume Designer in “Don Giovanni” directed by Lorenzo Regazzo.
Between 2015 to 2019, in collaboration with director Marco Bellussi he held the Set Designer position during the productions of:
“L’Orfeo” by Monteverdi, Teatro Comunale in Ferrara
“Nelle Plaghe d’oriente sia pace sulla Terra” with Ottavia Piccolo, Teatro Toniolo in Venezia
“La cambiale di matrimonio”, Pan Opera Festival in Umbria
“La vedova allegra”, Circolo della Lirica at palazzo Zacco Armeni in Padova
